We too have heard about Level III, but there is no such thing in Ontario, or in Canada for that matter. We believe this originated when the issue of Level II assistants doing scaling was first discussed. In provinces where there are expanded duties, Level II assistants are able to access specialty modules, such as the scaling module or orthodontic module. We do not foresee the formation of a Level III dental assistant.
