Dental Potpourri: The Nuts and Bolts of Dentistry
Dr. Edward Grodecki and Dr. Katherine Lee

Dr. Grodecki is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, the Chief of Dentistry at St. Joseph Health Centre in Toronto and a surgical staff member at several Ontario hospitals. He is a member of the teaching staff at the University of Toronto and McMaster University. He also practices privately in offices throughout the Greater Toronto Area and northern Ontario.

Dr. Lee is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and has trained in hospital dentistry in Vancouver and facial trauma in New York. She completed her residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anaesthesia at the University of Toronto, where she also obtained a Master of Science degree for her research on bone regeneration. She currently teaches as a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto and is an associate in private practice.

Ann Vickery

Ann is a skilled training professional with more than 25 years of experience in the field of training and development. For ten years Ann was National Division Manager and member of the North American Training Team for a Global Fortune 500 corporation, and was an instructor at Seneca College for three. Ann is a Life Coach, and has worked with the Canadian Mental Health Association as a Mental Health Educator in program development and facilitation since 2008.

Gender, Work, and Occupational Health: The Case of Dental Assisting in Canada
Yvonne James, BA (Hons), MA, PhD (candidate)

Yvonne James is a master’s trained health human resources researcher with the Pan-Canadian Health Human Resources Network. She has expertise in feminized health professions, allied oral health providers, and qualitative methodology research. Yvonne publishes in the areas of health human resources, gender, work, and health care management. Yvonne is a doctoral candidate at the University of Ottawa. Yvonne is also a doctoral fellow on the Canadian Institute of Health Research and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council funded Healthy and Productive Knowledge Workers partnership grant.
