ODAA Quality Assurance Program
The ODAA’s Quality Assurance Program is dedicated to ensuring that the training and continuing education our members receive are of the highest quality.
Institutions and organizations offering education for Certified Dental Assistants, Certified Dental Receptionists, and Certified Dental Treatment Coordinators are invited to apply for ODAA approval for their programs, courses, or other continuing education offerings.
Certified members of the ODAA must submit proof of continuing education annually by December 31st to maintain certification. Each member must earn a minimum of 12 continuing education credits annually. Credits are awarded based on the length, quality, and content of the education and in accordance with the ODAA Credit Record. Continuing education activities must provide learning opportunities for ODAA members that enhance their skills and knowledge, utilizing the latest information and technology. Courses will be approved and assigned continuing education credits based on content and presenter qualifications as defined by the ODAA’s Quality Assurance Committee.
To have your program, courses, or other continuing education offerings reviewed by the ODAA Quality Assurance Committee, you must complete the application, pay the processing fee, and submit the required supporting materials.
The Quality Assurance Committee, including relevant subject matter experts, will review applications and provide feedback as necessary. Reviews will take 4-8 weeks, depending on the length of your program or course. The ODAA is committed to course approval standards that are fair, equitable and that encourage impartial and objective feedback.
In addition to the completed application, please include the following supporting materials:
- Letter from Organization Supporting Submission of Course for Approval
- Course Syllabus or Outline
- Relevant course materials
- Assessments, if applicable
- Copy of certificate or proof of completion provided to participants
Once a continuing education course or program has been approved by the ODAA Quality Assurance Committee, the course provider can advertise that their course is ODAA-approved.
